El aislamiento social para evitar la propagación del COVID-19 trajo múltiples cambios de hábitos y la adopción de nuevas rutinas en el hogar. Mantener un estilo de vida saludable es esencial y una manera de lograrlo es con una buena actividad física. Sin embargo, algunas actividades como ejercitarse en casa, pueden provocar contracturas, por lo que la maestra en Ciencias de la Cultura Física, Georgina Ortega Contreras, nos brindó algunas recomendaciones para evitar lesiones.
¿Qué es una contractura?
Una contractura es una lesión involuntaria y permanente en uno o más grupos musculares, aún y cuando son lesiones comunes, pueden pasar de una simple molestia a ser más graves y completamente invalidantes.
Hacer mucho esfuerzo, levantar cosas pesadas, el sedentarismo, una inadecuada postura, la deshidratación e incluso el estrés, pueden ser causa de una contractura muscular.
De acuerdo con la especialista en fisioterapia, las contracturas cervicales y lumbares (región de la espalda) son las más recientes; las primeras se presentan por una rigidez en el cuello al mantener una postura inadecuada en la computadora, el celular o viendo la televisión.
Por otra parte, las lesiones lumbares se pueden dar por levantar cosas pesadas o una falta de higiene postural.
La contracción es un mecanismo de adaptación del cuerpo a una actividad, Ortega Contreras recomienda para evitar esta lesión:
- Mantener una correcta postura al estar sentado con la espalda y tronco erguidos.
- Maneja el estrés.
- Aliméntate sanamente.
- Bebe al menos dos litros de agua diarios.
- Evita movimientos bruscos o exagerados.
- Realiza al menos 30 minutos de actividad física diariamente.
Es importante que si usted sufre de una contractura aplique inmediatamente calor en la zona, haga estiramientos y un masaje.
Si ya sufre una molestia de este tipo, se recomienda no automedicarse y acudir con el doctor para que valore la gravedad. Recuerde, su salud es primero para llevar una buena calidad de vida.
